We are seeking Helpdesk Specialists to provide mission-critical end-user support for internal staff on machines ranging from standard operating system implementations to more complex audio-visual, digital artist and software developer configurations. Qualified candidates will work closely with our HR and Technology departments to devise solutions across a wide range of hardware and software packages, including workstations, notebooks, phones, peripherals and audio-visual equipment. Because of the unique and advanced technology infrastructure at Uhlig, successful Helpdesk Specialists will be self-directed and capable of picking up new and advanced skills required to support and maintain a highly available infrastructure.

 

This position is part of our technology team, which supports multiple operating divisions that serve a nationwide customer base in a diverse set of industries, ranging from residential communities to the financial industry to the medical field.

 

Helpdesk Specialists are responsible for providing hardware and software desktop field support and technical assistance as well as ensuring security policies and standards are met across our company and its workspaces. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot operating systems, application software and hardware peripherals for computer systems, phone systems and audio-visual equipment and ensure all systems perform at the highest level.
  • Utilize ticketing, data collection and reporting systems to proactively monitor infrastructure for potential problems.
  • Automate desktop deployments with common tools.
  • Manage hardware decommissioning process by strictly adhering to procedural checklist.
  • Communicate issues effectively and consistently implement reliable solutions.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Develop and maintain documentation as well as provide user training as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources and provide accurate inventory metrics.
  • Recommend Helpdesk process modifications and improvements.
  • Other projects as assigned

 

Candidates must have a minimum of two years experience working as part of a technology team providing computer support. Relevant certifications, including A+, Network+, CCNA and Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support Technician are preferred but not required.

 

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, MIS or related field from an accredited four-year college.

 

Helpdesk Specialists must exhibit exceptional analytical, organizational and time-management skills. Other relevant

Candidates must have a strong general proficiency in personal computers, Microsoft-based operating systems, and other common software tools, including the following:

 

  • Multiple versions of Windows operating system
  • Multiple versions of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Previous work in a structured, process-driven
    enterprise environment
  • Knowledge of networking and related network services
  • Experience supporting remote users
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell and operating system imaging software
